My first post-college job was in PR at L&T's flagship store. I was there from '87-'88. Would you believe one of my responsibilities was handling Men's Department promotions, which mostly meant interviewing models and selecting "ensembles" for a fashion show. Did our paths cross back then?
I so miss Lord and Taylor. Even when I moved to the burbs and could visit L&T at the local mall, the best one was in Manhattan. And how do I not remember that you worked there?! Well researched info about shatnez rule! Who knew? And love the Lebowski clip.
This was a great read! Having worked a full holiday season in Sterns (another department store from the 80s), I still break out in bouts of rage when dealing with hangers. I am also convinced that Deuteronomy was a compilation of Moses' incoherent thoughts following a night celebrating with his friend, St. Patrick.
This is great…and in so many ways!
Love the characters of life and how you bring them to life on the "page." Also loved the irony in "stolen anti-theft device remover." LOL.

It was a few years before that. But I can imagine you would be perfect for the job!
